This series is the most important of all in terms of its message. It also contains the most extensive, intensive and elaborate artwork I've ever done. Featuring Celtic knotwork and calligraphy, I've illustrated several paintings of Bible verses that depict the gospel, God's loving plan of redemption for mankind. I've used iridescent gold paint to make this work reminiscent of illuminated manuscripts.
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16). God loves us so much that he sent his Son, Jesus, to pay the penalty for our sins through his death on the cross. When we repent of our sins and trust in Jesus that he has saved and ransomed us from them, we are brought into a personal relationship with God, saved from an eternity in hell and graciously granted the free gift of eternal life. No other verse in the Bible has been translated into more world languages than John 3:16. This painting depicts this loving truth of John 3:16 and tells of it in 8 major world languages.
Sometimes provocative, bold and challenging, this series blasts through dead religious facade in order to get at the real truth of God. It speaks of true reconciliation with God and continuing deep love and devotion towards Him, even when it challenges and offends popular opinions.
This series illustrates some of the lessons and spiritual experiences God affords Christians as they journey with Him. Most of these pieces were inspired by my own experiences with God and what He's personally revealed to me.
Experiencing and knowing God moves all of Creation to praise and worship Him. It was for this very purpose that we were created. It is where we find our life, and it's the only place we ever find fulfillment and contentment. This series reveals various facets of my experience in praising and worshiping God.
This series documents a period in my life of massive spiritual upheaval. It bears testimony to God's mighty power and glory as He brought me out of slavery and bondage to addictions into a life of freedom and joy in His truth. No artwork can adequately describe the power of God; however, this series will speak words of encouragement to the downcast, troubled and oppressed and to those in bondage to addictions.
Jesus is "The Lion of the Tribe of Judah" (Revelation 5:5). Among other things, this title speaks of Jesus' sovereignty, majesty, power and strength--for he is the King of Kings! (Revelation 19:16). This series comes out of my personal experiences with the powerful Lion of Judah working in my life. It also reflects on different aspects of Jesus as the Lion of Judah. C.S. Lewis drew on this Biblical imagery for the character of Aslan (the Saviour of Narnia), a fantastical version of Christ, in his series "The Chronicles of Narnia". The drawings in this series will be used as illustrations in an upcoming book about Aslan.
Based on Biblical prophecies concerning the end times, this series gives us an artistic glimpse into future events leading up to the end of the age and the consummation of all things in Christ. This series becomes all the more relevant to us as we see an increasing amount of these Biblical prophecies fulfilled this day in age.
God's Word is alive and full of power! It is truth, and it cannot be broken! This series was an attempt to visually describe both the inherent power of God's Word and its power working in my own life. It may challenge the views of those who perceive the Word of God to be lifeless and irrelevant to us today.
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work" (2 Timothy 3:16-17). The Bible contains invaluable stories to teach us. This series documents some of its treasures.
This series includes the portraits and testimonies of 5 Gospel For Asia native missionaries currently working in India and Nepal. They tell of how God brought them out of their various indigenous religions into a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, nearly all of them through witnessing a miracle. The other art in this series relates to various aspects of the personal cost in preaching the gospel. (See also "Testimonies" to read more testimonies from people around the world.)
This series includes a small handful of some of the secular work I've done over the years including: still life studies at Uni, abstraction, landscapes, flowers, animals and sculpture.
